Das man auch als Lehrperson weiterhin in der Musikszene verankert ist und Werke veröffentlicht, zeigt uns diese Woche unser Jazz-Kompositions-Lehrender Reinhold Pleschberger-Schmölzer.
Conticinium (comp./arr. R. Pleschberger-Schmölzer)
This term is of Latin origin and literally means “the quiet time at midnight”. To capture this mood in music, I composed a motive consisting mainly of a minor pentatonic scale and, from there, found my way to the main theme. At the time, I was listening extensively to choir music, string quartets and orchestra works; I think this influence can be heard very clearly in certain passages. In keeping with the tone of the piece, the Jazz Orchestra tune was conceived without rhythm section and features solo flugelhorn.
Shout to be still (comp.LYLIT/arr. R. Pleschberger-Schmölzer)
LYLIT (aka Eva Klampfer) is a renowned Austrian singer and besides her impressive solo-oeuvre, she worked with countless artists such as Parov Stelar or Conchita Wurst. Almost two years ago, Reinhold had the pleasure to arrange her wonderful song „Shout to be still“ featuring LYLIT as special guest with Mozarteumorchester Salzburg. Unfortunately there were no recording possibilities back then. This is the reason, why Reinhold put together the original video and the score, produced with diverse sound libraries.
